    Job Description

This position is ideal for a creative thinking, self-motivated, and curious individual who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    The Content Marketing & Copywriting Associate will be a key part of the team responsible for creating, synthesizing, and transforming ideas into words for every sector of the organization. This position is driven by event marketing with campaigns dedicated to bringing in diverse audiences. The successful candidate is deadline-oriented, likes a challenge, and can produce punchy writing that drives sales. This will be a writing-intensive position and the ideal candidate is social media savvy, with experience developing and executing marketing plans, and a knowledge of invoice tracking and budgeting. This position will include live-blogging, social media account management, advertising, all under the mentorship of the Director of Marketing & Communications.
     



    Responsibilities:

    • Write for web, social media, news releases, articles, advertising copy, titles, slogans, speeches, marketing/sales letters, business and marketing plans, scripts (for radio and tv ads etc.), training manuals, presentations, and other writing tasks as needed

    • Copyedit and proofread content from across the organization

    • Assist in management of billables and budget

    • Manage, maintain, and grow press lists and relationships

    • Create engaging social media content prior to, during, and after events

    • Track and analyze data from across the organization as it pertains to Marketing

    • Seek out guest bloggers and content creators

    • Create and execute marketing plans across all platforms

    • Organize and oversee content marketing, street and distribution teams

    • Communicate directly with artists’ agents for event promotion

    Requirements:

    • B.A./B.S.

    • be highly creative and imaginative with an inquisitive nature and desire to learn

    • have superb written and interpersonal skills

    • have an eye for detail

    • works well in a team and collaborative environment

    • be able to work under pressure with multiple deadlines

    • be at ease with spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, content management systems, social media

    • able to give and receive creative criticism

    • have an eye for detail

    • have an interest in commerce, the arts, popular culture, and new advertising trends and techniques

    Pluses:

    • Comfortable in front of or behind the camera

    • Familiarity with Adobe suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere).

    • Tech-savvy

    • Saleforce experience

    • Wordpress experience


    Relationships:

    Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications

    Subordinate staff: content & street marketing teams, interns, volunteers

    Other internal contacts: Marketing, Development, Programming and Operations staff, Board of Trustees

    External contacts: press, artists’ agents, vendors, and general public

    Salary/Benefits:

    This is a full-time position with benefits with some evening and weekends required. The Music Hall benefit package includes a health and dental plan, participation in a 401(k), vacation and sick pay.

    Compensation is commensurate with experience (not to mention, all the popcorn and coffee that you can consume, and the chance to see great performances and movies).
