CAMP ENCORE! OPENS REGISTRATION FOR 2018 DATES

Prescott Park Arts Festival has announced the return of Camp ENCORE! In partnership with Camp CenterStage, Camp ENCORE! offers a unique opportunity for young, aspiring actors. Two sessions will be offered, culminating in performances of Elf Jr. and Willy Wonka Kids on the Wilcox Industries Main Stage.

Open to youth aged 8 to 17, the theatre program offers sessions in music, singing, dancing, acting, visual arts and technical theater ending with fully produced musical performances. Session one, including an additional week, runs from July 2nd through July 22nd with the second session running from July 23rd through August 5th. Each session will include guest artist teachers, specialized focused workshops and community outreach experiences.

“Campers will grow, learn, explore, have fun and perform on the Festival's stage,” said Camp Director Meghann Beauchamp. The collaboration with Camp CenterStage shares a refined full day camp program, and an experienced staff of professional teachers and artists to lead the summer session. All this offered on the gorgeous grounds of the cities Prescott Park.

“We’re very excited to partner with Camp Centerstage once again. This partnership has given the festival an unparalleled ability to offer our youth an exceptional theatre experience,” explained Prescott Park Arts Festival Executive Director, Ben Anderson. “When we started this camp we were inundated with requests to revive the program, so we’re proud to be offering Camp ENCORE! once again. It is an experience that kids treasure for their entire lives.”

The Festival is celebrating its 44th anniversary this season. This well-loved and high-caliber youth camp has been offered nearly every year since the festivals inception.

“Inviting the creative and dynamic youth of our community to develop their talents at a young age is something that the Festival is very proud to offer” explained Anderson. The camp is open to aspiring youth performers, artists, and technicians who receive a total of 120 hours of learning, rehearsing and creative fun.

All classes and rehearsals will be held at Prescott Park Arts Festival, providing a beautiful outdoor setting with full artistic and technical support for the final show.

Camp ENCORE! will be held July 2 to August 5 with performances of the final performances of Elf Jr. and Willy Wonka Kids. The camp runs Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm with an early drop off and aftercare program available.
