DOVER – The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire in Dover is bringing back a popular series of adult evening events called “Throwback Thursday: Grown-up Play Dates,” where adults 21+ can have a chance to play in the exhibits, do funky science experiments and crafts, and enjoy special drinks from a cash bar. To kick off the series is a “Night at the BooZeum” themed event on Thursday, October 25, 7-9pm.

“Last year’s Halloween-themed event was so much fun,” shared Xanthi Gray, CMNH Education Director. “Some of the highlights have to be the mummy wrap challenge and eating a donut off a string, both of which are back again this year.” Grown-up ghouls will also have a chance to make spooky slime, craft an adorable ghost, do a scavenger hunt, and of course play in the museum’s hands-on exhibits, normally reserved for the kids. “People want to get into the museum and play, whether they have kids or not!” Now is their chance to explore the museum’s two floors of exhibits including a giant pinscreen, a wall-to-wall Music Matrix, even an interactive augmented reality sand table.

In coming months the museum has planned more themed Throwback Thursday grown-up play dates. January 17, 2019 will be a “Way Back Birthday Bash” night complete with prom king and queen! Saturday, February 23, 2019 will be a “Mini-Golf” extravaganza – yes, inside the museum! And then Thursday, April 11, 2019 grown-ups can get creative for “Messy Mayhem: Paint Night!”

Guests must have a valid ID to attend. Tickets are on sale now online for $10 and are $12 at the door. Visit www.childrens-museum.org to learn more or to purchase tickets. The museum thanks its October Throwback Thursday sponsor, Atlas Heritage, LLC.
