  • The Rep celebrates its 100th livestream (and the New York Times takes note!)

Tomorrows evening stream of The Marvelous Wonderettes marks our 100th livestream since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.
In mid-March, we saw the writing on the wall and realized that we would not be able to be with our audiences in the same space. But, we knew we had a mission to do, and we're blessed with a dedicated team of performers.
Our performers and tech team have made tremendous sacrifices to do this. They've been isolated for 9 weeks. No seeing friends or family or significant others. No shopping. No going out. They've only seen the walls of their apartments, their cars, the theatre, and each other. They're true believers in our mission and we can't thank them enough.
Thanks to their efforts, we are currently one of the only, if not the only, theatre in the country streaming live, fully-produced theatre. Their efforts have attracted the attention of TimeOut Magazine, Broadway World, and The New York Times (keep an eye out for our article next week).
We couldn't have done it without you either. Thousands have tuned in from across the world. You've bought tickets, tipped, donated, and spread the word.
We can't wait to be together again, but until then, thanks for joining us.

Tonight! Some of the regions best theatre performers will livestream their favorite songs every Friday night at 8pm in a Friday Night Cabaret at the Seacoast Rep.
Tip artists through Venmo, chat with other guests in the livechat, and feel a little less alone and cooped up.
We now offer the ability to request songs ahead of time for a $100 donation. Songs must be requested by 3pm on the Thursdays before a show. Donations for requests can be made here.
As always, our livestreams are free for Seniors & healthcare workers. Send an email to kathleen.cavalaro@seacoastrep.org and request to be added.
Want access to all of our livestream events? Join our Patreon at the $50 or higher and get free access to all of our upcoming livestreams!

Our Friday Night Cabarets are proudly sponsored by Sue & Bob Thoresen.

    Instructor: Taylor Karin
    $75
Let me help you cultivate a fantastic self-tape repertoire! Because we know it’s an absolutely bonkers time to be an actor. With the huge influx of auditions that are now going virtual, the ability to quickly send in your best material is more important now than ever in this demanding, immediate, internet-age. Not to mention, we want all our best work to be on display for any passers-by (you never know where your next job will come from)! So over the course of a one-hour video call, let’s chat about it all. All you have to do beforehand is film a quick self tape for me to review before our session (don’t stress, I just want to see where you are and how you work)! Bring a notepad, and we’ll go over everything you need to know- technical tips, monologue material (and where to find it), what to wear, coaching for the camera, where/how to submit, and everything in between. Just because auditions have changed slightly, doesn’t mean they can’t be just as lucrative and positive for you. So let’s make this really special, and let’s get you excited to share your work and your talent with the world (wide web)!
    Instructor: Amanda Munton
    1 Hour: $85.00 10 RA Credits
    3 One-Hour Sessions: $225.00 30 RA Credits
30 Minute Audition Prep: $45.00 10 RA Credits
Singing is one of the most personal forms of musical expression, given that our instrument is housed inside our bodies. As an instructor, I help students discover the possibilities of their unique instruments and educate them on the inner workings of the voice. Education and functional training can help develop a healthy vocal production that will facilitate ease in singing.
The field of musical theatre encompasses an enormous range of vocal styles, so students will also work to develop a flexible singing technique and understanding of the vocal demands each style requires. Students should expect to study a wide variety of music ranging from Golden Age through to contemporary pop musicals. Individuals who have a love of singing, follow a regular practice regime, and look for joy in the developmental process will thrive and be amazed at all the unique facets of the voice they can use to communicate their message through song.
Everyone has a story to tell – learn how to put your best voice forward!
    Instructor: Bryan Knowlton
    $100 – $150
Send in your musical theater video audition to a professional director, Bryan Knowlton, for a thorough and thoughtful critique. Bryan will review your video submission looking at it through the eyes of a director casting a show. He will offer pointers such as how to open your video submission, do’s and don’ts, lighting tips, sound advice, and how to make your personality shine.
Each video will come with written feedback within 7 days.
For an additional $50, you can schedule a 20 minute Zoom interview with Bryan for a Q&A about your video submission and feedback.

    Instructor: Andrea Lyons
    All ages

Our company class is an all- levels, all gender, one hour, musical theatre style Jazz class designed to keep our performing company on top of their technique during the run of a show.
Usually this class is strictly behind the scenes stuff, but you’re stuck at home, and we can’t perform for you in person, so why not train with our company from wherever you are? No need to get out of your pajamas. We can’t see you, but you can see us.
Resident Artist Andrea Lyons has kept our company and students in tip-top shape, most recently as the dance captain for A Chorus Line.
There will be about a 20 minute warm up, 30 minutes of across the floor combinations ending with center work combining skills from the class. There will be options offered for different skill levels so students in class and at home can decide what they’d like to try.
Make sure you have some room to move and turn your computer up nice and loud and follow along from the safety of your own home.
As always, our livestreams are free for Seniors & healthcare workers. Send an email to kathleen.cavalaro@seacoastrep.org and request to be added.

    How To Stream
While. adjusting to live-streaming some of our patrons may be using certain tech for the first time. Us too! We’re happy to help as best we can.

Here is what you need to know:
    • These events are truly live. You will not have access to them before they are recorded for the first time. Many will not be available for replay or rewind. Please be ready to watch live!
    • These events require a stable internet connection and a device that is capable of audio and video. If you can watch Youtube videos you can probably watch ours.
    • While these are filmed at the theatre, they are not open to the public at the theatre, only online. Please do not come to the theatre. We’ll want to let you in but we can’t.

Our content is streamed through a browser-based video service, and if you can stream other content like it, odds are you can stream ours. However, there are a number of things that could affect your ability to watch based on hardware and software on your end. Since everyone’s devices are different, and these events are live, we are probably not able to help you troubleshoot, nor will we be able to refund your purchase if a technology issue on your end keeps you from watching.

When you purchase a digital ticket, you will receive a receipt - this is not your ticket. You will receive a separate email with a link a day (roughly) before the event starts from Crowdcast, our streaming platform. It will be very simple from there.

You will have time to test your audio and video setup. You can do so with a Youtube link, one of our prior crowdcasts, or any other browser-based video.

Again: These events are to be live-streamed from your home. While we film at the theatre, the theatre is closed to the public. Please do not come to the theatre. You will be turned away.

    Follow our hot tips:

    • Do not purchase from third party vendors. They cannot sell livestream access no matter what they tell you. If you did not get the ticket through Seacoast Rep or our partner Vendini apply for a refund through the party that sold them to you.
    •
    • Ensure you use the same email for purchasing tickets that you use to stream. Do not give fake information or you will not get what you need to stream.
    •
    • Ensure your computer is updated to the most recent software.
    •
    • Test your setup with other videos before trying ours.
    •
    • Ensure you have the time and date correct for the content. Most of our content is live. You will not be able to access it before it streams live for the first time. For some content you will not be able to access it after the live event, just like a theatre performance.
    •
Here are some common ways to put our content on a larger screen:

If your TV is a smart TV, is connected to the internet, and has a browser, simply access the email or ticketing link from that browser.

If your computer has an HDMI output, and your television has an HDMI input, connect the two with an HDMI cable and set your television to the proper HDMI input (there may be multiple).

If you are using Apple TV, we recommend following Apple’s instructions here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205358. You can also use screen mirroring through compatible devices.

If you are using Chromecast, we recommend following the directions here: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6006232?hl=en
