'On The Couch,' a new psychological comedy, at West End Theater, Feb. 15-March 3
PORTSMOUTH -- "On the Couch," a new psychological comedy by George Hosker-Bouley, will be presented at the West End Theater, 959, Islington St., Portsmouth, from Feb. 15 to March 3. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets is $25 for adults, $23 for students, seniors and military. "On the Couch" follows the exploits of Thaddeus Turnwell as he enters his mid-life crisis while going through a divorce. Because of the divorce settlement Turnwell must now rent portions of his office to two other psychiatrists who bring along their own unusual clients. Dr. Percival Brandalise and Dr. Felix Craven bring in clients who are both needs and a little bit crazy. This whacked-out farce jumps into high gear once their group therapy session starts. The comedy also feature performances of such classic songs as “Please Release Me”, “The Way of Love”, “It’s Not Unusual” and “Ode to Billy Joe”
George Hosker-Bouley is the founder of The Portsmouth Underbelly Tour. The former executive and artistic director of the Prescott Park Arts Festival and the founder of Carpe Diem Inc., a production company that has presented more than 25 of his original comedies. Hosker-Bouley has been presented the key to the City of Portsmouth, has won more than 17 Spotlight on the Arts Awards and the drama director for York High School. Hosker-Bouley has presented a yearly comedy at the West End for the last 13 years and presented his annual “A Dickens of a Christmas” for the last 16 years at The Old Salt in Hampton.
