Hayley Perry's work is an exploration of paint and fiber, where color, shape, and texture are her primary tools to create her surreal, landscape inspired work. Finding inspiration from her painting, she makes her woven wall hangings by pulling each loop to the surface of a foundation by hand, a contemplative and quiet process that contrasts with her daring use of color. The fiber pieces often comment on the process of their making by including imagery of hands, arms, home, and community.
