Description

Portsmouth is the City of the Open Door, but not everyone is able to go through every door. Access Navigators is a local nonprofit that maintains a website listing the ins and outs of accessibility in our community helping to take the mystery out of accessibility.

In this session taking place at Baker Newman Noyes,
75 Portsmouth Boulevard Suite 130, Portsmouth, we will hear from Anne Weidman about the real-world challenges that folks with mobility issues face before going off into the field to help gather information to help update the Access Navigators site.

About our Facilitator:

Anne is the Director of Community Engagement for JSA Design, a Portsmouth-based architecture firm. Deeply involved in civic life, she volunteers with several Portsmouth-based organizations and helps oversee Strawbery Banke Museum’s outdoor ice rink.

As a co-founder of Access Navigators, a JSA-based nonprofit, Anne is dedicated to providing reliable accessibility information that helps New England residents with disabilities stay connected to their communities. Her work has been instrumental in raising awareness and advocating for more inclusive and welcoming spaces.

In recognition of her contributions to accessibility and community engagement, Anne was recently awarded Honorary Membership to the New Hampshire Chapter, American Institute of Architects (AIA) for her efforts in increasing awareness and advocacy for inclusive design across the State of New Hampshire.
