Rat Tally + Morpho w/ Kate Possi Monday, October 28 Doors 6pm / Show 7pm All ages / Standing $13 Member / $15 General Admission Advance/ $18 GA Day of Show -- About Rat Tally: Rat Tally is the project of singer-songwriter Addy Harris, who is based in Chicago but also has roots in Boston and Los Angeles. After emerging in 2019 with her self-released When You Wake Up EP, Harris returned in January 2021 with the single ‘Shrug’ and the announcement of her signing to 6131 Records, which has launched artists such as Julien Baker and Katie Malco. In 2022, the label released Rat Tally’s debut full-length, In My Car, existing in a similar lane of pensive indie rock but also highlights Harris’ unique knack for melody and evocative lyricism. Produced by Max Grazier, who also plays guitar in the band, the album feels equally lived-in and reflective, speaking in metaphor as much as it addresses its subjects directly. -- About Morpho: Chicago-based guitarist Kristyn Chapman will release her debut EP as Morpho on November 15, titled Morpho Season — out via Hit the North Records. The record was mixed by Slow Pulp's Henry Stoehr, mastered by Greg Obis of Stuck, and co-produced by Kristyn alongside Alex Burns, Will Erickson, and Joey Lemon. While Morpho is Kristyn’s main project, she has also cut her teeth in multiple bands around Chicago, including recording and touring nationally in Waltzer. Out of this came her collaboration with Kelly Hannemann (Aunt Kelly) and Sarah Weddle (Sarah Weddle, bnny), who fill out the sonic picture of the record with bass and drums, respectively. This integration with the larger Chicago scene and a penchant for touring bleed into the Morpho sound. There's a grittiness tucked into the corners of Morpho Season, a sound dragged from the road that is nestled in the grooves of this record; all bruised guitar and surly tones.
