In recognition of World Bi-Polar Day Seacoast Mental Health Center Presents “A Summer in the Cage” a Ben Selkow production 6PM Movie 7:30PM- Panel presentation moderated by the Honorable John T. Pendleton Diane Cyr- Family Member and SMHC Family Advocate Mano Matsui - Consumer Karla LaRochelle MS, LMFT – SMHC Assertive Community Treatment Team Leader Each will share their personal experiences and answer questions from the audience The film chronicles Ben’s friend Sam’s battle with bipolar disorder. The film follows Sam for six years as he suffers delusional manic episodes, battles paralyzing depressions, and tries to escape the legacy of his father. By showing the difficult emotional impact of being bipolar on Sam, his family, and the filmmaker, A SUMMER IN THE CAGE puts a human face on an illness that affects millions of American families. It is a film about successfully living with, and managing, a mental illness.
