    Position Summary
    GoodWork has designed Carey Cottage to be an inspirational and productive place for the community to gather.  To facilitate this objective, GoodWork offers a variety of spaces to businesses and individuals to rent for meetings, retreats, socials, training workshops, and corporate outings. The Community Rentals Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating event rentals and serves as the primary staff resource to our renters, their vendors, and guests.


    • Respond to rental inquiries in a timely, effective, and proactive manner
    • Administer venue visits with potential clients and proactively facilitate follow-up conversations
    • Schedule all event rentals in coordination with the GoodWork and Carey Cottage tenant’s and Corporate Sponsorship Program
    • Document and process rental contracts
    • Coordinate with GoodWork COO on rental invoicing, security deposits, and any monies associated with facility rentals.
    • Manage and update the internal master events calendar
    • Work directly with clients, caterers, and vendors to handle all logistics related to event rentals including setup and cleanup
    • Be present at rental functions or ensure adequate GoodWork staff coverage
    • Create positive experiences for clients and resolve any customer complaints in a professional and timely fashion
    • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health, and safety regulations, and all laws and rules pertaining to alcohol on-premises and obtain any required permits and licenses.
    *As time allows, this position may also be asked to provide support to the GoodWork Incubator Program; coordinating and facilitating monthly programs & collecting impact data, maintaining an annual calendar of educational programs and communicating to incubator participants, coordinating with, and scheduling presenters, ensuring program quality and incubator participant satisfaction by distributing, collecting, and synthesizing post-session survey results, managing RSVPs, and providing attendees instructions for participation in both virtual and in-person sessions, and following up after sessions with any promised additional information and resources.

    • Associate degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience, or the equivalent in event and/or rental coordination
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service and project coordination skills
    • Detail-oriented and highly organized
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and willingness and ability to learn additional software platforms as needed
    • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to relationship management and event planning
    • Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information
    • Ability to represent GoodWork in a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic manner, working cooperatively with others at all levels of the organization including colleagues, supervisors, volunteers, and with diverse groups of visitors of all ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds
    Physical & Mental Requirements:
    • Must be able to move about the facility inside and out 50% of the time conducting tours, etc.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time operating a   computer and other office equipment.
    • Requires regular verbal and written communication with vendors, incubator participants, etc., exchanging ideas and meaning.    
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    Working Conditions:
    The 20 hours/week are spread over mornings, afternoons, and some evenings and weekends to accomplish the combination of office work and logistics of specific events.  The schedule may fluctuate on a weekly basis.  GoodWork is a flexible work environment, respectful of work/life balance.

    This is a part-time non-exempt position.  Twenty hours/week.  The anticipated starting hourly rate is $20 commensurate with experience.
