The Week Ahead: Keep your eyes peeled for brighter days
DISCLAIMER: This is not a press release
Oh, what a wild and wet start to the week.
The good news is it’s perfect weather for tucking in at home and watching a good movie. Or getting takeout from your favorite local restaurant. And lighting a candle to amp up the atmosphere. Whatever you do, stay dry and keep your eyes peeled for brighter, better sounding days ahead.
And now, here is, the Week Ahead:
Tuesday, 2/23, 10 a.m. to noon., Online: Seacoast Chamber Alliance Offshore Wind Forum. The offshore wind industry promises thousands of new jobs and billions of dollars in investments and economic impact. New Hampshire is estimated to have 3.4 gigawatts of potential offshore wind power off our coasts and the capacity to serve as an important part of the offshore wind supply chain. In December 2019, Gov. Sununu passed an executive order preparing New Hampshire for future wind development and Sen. David Watters (D-Dover) has filed legislation designed to help spur the development of offshore wind projects and other renewable energy in the region.

Tuesday, 2/23, noon to 1:30 p.m., Online: Restaurant Brainstorm. Barriers, Planters, Painting, Dates - Much to discuss. Join your peers, the Chamber, members of the City Staff, and members of the Task Force/Blue Ribbon committee to brainstorm what outdoor dining will look like for the summer of 2021. Join us as we get creative and determine how to implement your great ideas! There is no charge to participate, but registration is required to receive the Zoom information.
Thursday, 2/25, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., Online: Connect & Collaborate 2. This weekly networking group is open to one individual for each business category. The Connect & Collaborate members will foster relationships among members and serve as a catalyst to drive more business to its fellow members.
Friday, 2/26, 8 to 9:15 a.m., Online: Connect & Collaborate. This weekly networking group (much like the first!) is open to one individual for each business category and co-chaired by Dan Jalbert and Latonya Wallace. The Connect & Collaborate members will foster relationships among members and serve as a catalyst to drive more business to its fellow members.
Friday, 2/26, 1 to 2 p.m., Online: Chamber Chat LIVE with Sen. Rebecca Perkins Kwoka. Many of you know Sen. Rebecca Perkins Kwoka, formerly on Portsmouth's City Council, and now representing District 21, consisting of Portsmouth, Durham, Newmarket, Lee, Newfields, Madbury, and Newington, in Concord. The senator currently sits on the Election Law and Municipal Affairs and Energy and Natural Resources committees, and will join us on Friday, to tell us what she's working on, and the bills she's introduced. She'll also want to hear from you, our business community, and what is top of mind for YOUR business.
Join us for an interactive discussion with your newly elected senator.
