Handcrafted, global goods are now available at 15 Vaughn Mall
PORTSMOUTH—The fair trade – nonprofit retailer, Ten Thousand Villages, which sources artisan-made products from over 25 developing countries, has relocated its Portsmouth store to 15 Vaughn Mall. We carry a wide variety of handcrafted gifts and home goods – including wall art, textiles, baskets, and serve ware — along with jewelry and accessories.
As a global maker-to-market movement, Ten Thousand Villages connects artisans in developing countries with conscious shoppers by offering ethically sourced goods crafted by hand. Every product and donation generates sustainable income for 20,000+ makers in over 25 developing countries who earn a fair, living wage in safe working conditions. That means families are able to build homes and save for the future, their children stay healthy and go to school, and their communities develop and thrive. Partnering with people often excluded from the marketplace, particularly women, we share the craft, culture and stories of makers through a diverse network all over the US. As a pioneer of fair trade, we do business differently, putting people and planet first — since 1946.
