    Announces Summer Camps and Fall Programming Schedule

    OGUNQUIT, MAINE—Ogunquit Playhouse Arts Academy, a profound tool for students of all ages to exercise their imagination and evolve their skill sets, has announced their 2023 summer camps and fall programming schedule. Registrations are open and scholarship applications are available online at ogunquitplayhouse.org.
     
    DISNEY’S FINDING NEMO JR*
    For Ages 10 to 18
    3 Week Session (Jun 19 - Jul 09 / Mon thru Fri, 9a-5p)
    This 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
     
    DISNEY’S DESCENDANTS THE MUSICAL*
    For Ages 12 to 18
    3 Week Session (Jul 17 - Aug 06 / Mon thru Fri, 9a-5p)
    This 90-minute, brand-new musical comedy features the beloved characters and hit songs from the original Disney Channel films!
     
    THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL YOUTH EDITION*
    For Ages 12 to 18
    2 Week Session (Jul 31 - Aug 13 / Mon thru Fri, 9a-5p)
    The stakes are higher than ever in this dynamic 60-minute stage musical, as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world.

     

    • Each of these productions will have multiple weekend performances on the Ogunquit Playhouse mainstage.
     
    MUSICVILLE: A NEW CHILDREN’S MUSICAL
    For Ages 9 to 14
    2 Week Session (Jun 10 - Jul 21 / Mon thru Fri, 9a-4p)
    On this 60-minute adventure, journey with Maiden Melody and Radical Rhythm as they attempt to save their town from the Sorcerer of Silence. Book, Music, and Lyrics by Denver Casado and Betina Hershey.

    *This production will have its final performances at the Hannaford Lecture Hall on the York County Community College campus.
     
    WE ARE MONSTERS
    For Ages 8 to 12

    1 Week Session (Aug 14-18 / Mon thru Fri, 9a-4p)
    We Are Monsters is a hilarious NEW 60-minute musical cabaret that follows human kids into a monster cabaret filled with quirky monster characters. Book, Music & Lyrics by Denver Casado and Betina Hershey.

     
    SCIENCE FAIR SPECTACULAR
    For Ages 5 to 7
    1 Week Session (Jul 10-14 / Mon thru Fri, 9a-2p)
    In this outstanding musical we meet Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Galileo, and Sir Isaac Newton who educate and entertain with science and music. Book by Sonya Piper and Music by Mark Burrows.

     
    LEMONADE THE MUSICAL
    For Ages 5 to 7
    1 Week Session (Aug 07-11 / Mon thru Fri 9a-2p)
    Join in the fairytale frenzy when Chicken Little, the 3 Little Pigs, Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo Peep, and a host of other characters have a REALLY bad day! Music & Lyrics by John Higgins and John Jacobson.

     
    WHEN I GROW UP
    For Ages 5 to 7
    1 Week Session (Aug 21-25 / Mon thru Fri 9a-2p)
    A baker, sailor, cowboy, and movie star! Life offers so many choices for kids today, they are free to be whoever they choose to be. Music & Lyrics by Emily Crocker and John Jacobson.

     
    FALL PROGRAMMING
    THE GRUNCH
    For Ages 10 to 18
    7 Week Session (Sep 27 - Nov 12 /Wednesdays 4p-7p, Saturdays 10a-4p)
    Inspired by Dr Seuss’ The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Rudy Grunch is a grumpy 6th grader who always feels like an outsider. When the entire school gets excited about their annual musical, he comes up with a perfect plan to ruin it for everyone. Book, music, and lyrics by Denver Casado and Betina Hershey.

     
    This production will have weekend performances at the Hannaford Lecture Hall on the York County Community College campus.
     
    Audition information for principal roles will be emailed to students upon completion of registration. Email all questions to registration@ogunquitplayhouse.org. Tuition is refundable up to 75% four weeks prior to the first day of camp.
