5k Trail Race and Kid’s Fun Run at the Seacoast Science Center, Saturday, April 22

RYE—The Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals, held Saturday, April 30 at 9 a.m. at the Seacoast Science Center features a 5k chip-timed trail race and untimed walk to benefit the Center’s Marine Mammal Rescue program. The popular race follows a scenic route through the forest, by the rocky shore, along a sandy beach, and alongside historic military fortifications in Odiorne Point State Park.
The first 150 5k registrants receive an official wick-wear race t-shirt; additional shirts are available for purchase for $15 when you register. A limited number will be for sale on race day. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest male and female overall times, as well as top finishers in gender and age categories and best ocean-themed costume.
The Kid’s Fun Run features a 300-yard dash and a half-mile run for children ages 12 and under. Every child that participates in the Fun Run wins a prize!
Dogs are not allowed in Odiorne Point State Park and strollers are not permitted on the 5k trail. Children, ages 12 and under, must be accompanied by an adult on the 5k.
