The Cookers, a powerhouse jazz septet, bring over 250 years of combined experience to their high-energy, post-bop sound. With a lineup featuring Eddie Henderson (trumpet), Cecil McBee (bass), George Cables (piano), Billy Hart (drums), David Weiss (trumpet), Donald Harrison (alto saxophone), and Billy Harper (tenor saxophone), the group showcases exceptional musicianship honed through decades of performing and leading in jazz. Since forming in 2007, The Cookers have released six critically acclaimed albums, including Look Out! (their latest), Warriors, Cast the First Stone, and Time and Time Again. Known for their expansive originals and aggressive mid-60s-inspired spirit, the band has headlined major festivals worldwide, including Newport, Montreux, and New Orleans. Their live performances exude the collective power and depth of seasoned players, making their music both commanding and deeply resonant.
