    Events Coordinator

    Director of Marketing and Development 

    Status 

    Part-time (16-24 hours per week) 

    Pay Range 

    $20-22 per hour (depending on experience)

     

    Job Summary 

    The Events Coordinator will organize and manage all events hosted by Albacore Park as well as site rentals. This position will require collaboration with the development team, current and potential donors, collaborating institutions, and the public. The Events Coordinator will be in charge of organizing fundraising, community, and any other future events. This position will also require communication between all departments at Albacore Park to ensure that events run smoothly. The Events Coordinator will work within the Portsmouth Submarine & Maritime Association (PSMA) mission to help promote and grow Albacore Park's community presence. 

     

    Duties and Responsibilities 

     

    Museum Events: 

    The Events Coordinator will be responsible for organizing, promoting, creating, and executing all events at Albacore Park. The role of the Event Coordinator is to create more events that allow Albacore Park to become more involved in the Portsmouth community and to promote more engagement with our museum. This will also require collaboration between all departments at Albacore Park, allowing for open communication. 

    Site Rentals: 

    As Albacore Park grows it allows for more opportunities for site rentals,and the Events Coordinator will be responsible for promoting the space as a rentable venue unique to the seacoast. Included in this role is communicating, organizing, supervising, and working with clients to fulfill their expectations while working within the museum's mission. This role of the Events Coordinator will continue to grow and change as the museum becomes more operational as a venue for local events.  

     

    Qualifications 

     
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred

    • Highly organized with attention to detail

    • Flexible and calm under pressure; can keep up with the pace of ever changing events 

    • Is available to work weekends and evenings for museum events and site rentals 

    • Engaging personality; is able to build connections with our visitors and possible donors to encourage repeat business

    Working Conditions 

     

    Applicants must be able to lift 25 pounds, and stand for long periods of time indoors or outdoors.
